Kellum Medical Group was founded by Dr. Daniel H. Kellum Sr. out of a genuine passion for serving his community. For more than 40 years, he has fostered lifelong relationships with patients that spans for several generations in the San Antonio area. Dr. Kellum’s success is not only attributed to his extensive knowledge in the medical field but to his genuine compassion for making a difference in someone’s health and overall well-being. Kellum Medical Group takes pride in providing excellent, high quality, customized primary health care with a compassionate heart for individuals and families. Our practice caters to all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
Dr. Daniel H. Kellum, Sr., D.O., F.A.A.F.P received his Medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1973. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from University, Austin, Texas. Dr. Kellum worked as a pharmacist for 10 years before becoming a physician.
He did his post graduate training at the Tulsa Regional Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, 1990 and Board Certification of Family Medicine 1993.
He is active member of the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, and The American Medical Association.
His purpose is to provide quality care to all his patients and strongly believes in promoting health and wellness. He enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, family and friends. He also likes movies, sports, the outdoors and playing baseball most weekends with the Men’s Senior Baseball League.
Denise Kellum, R.N., PA-C has been a family practice physician assistant since 2008. A native San Antonian, she received her Bachelor of Science in Health Care Sciences and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. PA Kellum is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and Bexar County Physician Assistant Society. PA Kellum values educating her patients in various stages of disease prevention. Her hobbies include spending time and attending sporting events with her husband, playing with her dogs, and writing.
Ashlei L. Wooten was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. After her experience as an RN in Surgical Oncology, Medical Surgical and Pediatrics, she was selected to be a part of the first cohort to receive her Masters of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. She joined Kellum Medical Group in Spring of 2016 and in her free time enjoys spending quality time with her husband and new baby boy, reading books, watching documentaries, and traveling.
Manuela Berry joined Kellum Medical Group in June 2019. She received her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Prior to joining the group, she worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Baptist hospital for 4 years.
Mrs. Berry is a native of Italy and speaks Italian, in addition to English.
She loves being able to provide for patients and customize their care according to their needs and priorities.
Mrs. Berry enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three sons, relaxing by the pool, and traveling.
Chrissy Staley, FNP-C, MSN is a native Texan that worked as a RN for years in multiple areas of acute care hospitals before obtaining her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, graduating with honors. She is interested in multiple areas of medicine and enjoys reading new research. During her free time, she loves to spend time with her family, boating and playing with her three dogs.
Alice Blackmon APRN, MSN, CPNP has been in the nursing field for over 29 years. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in nursing in 1990 from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and her Masters of Nursing/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree in 1997 From Texas Women’s University in Houston. Her experience ranges from hematology/oncology to pediatric HIV research to general pediatrics.
She was a part of the Kellum Medical Group Family from 2000 to 2012 and has rejoined the practice as of April 2019.
On her spare time she enjoys spending time with her three beautiful daughters and one grandson.
Christina Ferris, APRN, CPNP-PC joined Kellum Medical Group in the fall of 2018. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech University health Science Center in Lubbock and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from University Health Science Center in San Antonio. Prior to her PNP she worked as a Neonatal ICU nurse from University Hospital in San Antonio for over five years. She is bilingual and has deep ties to the community around Kellum Medical Group having graduated from nearby John Jay High School.
She enjoys taking care of children of all ages and strongly believes lifelong health starts in childhood with health promotion and disease prevention.
Christina has 2 wonderful children and an amazing supportive husband.
